It is the cycling island par excellence, the land where many professional teams begin their winter preparation and where cyclists enjoy their rides in summer clothing all year round, at an average temperature of 24 ° C, a wonderful sea and paths crossing the island and climbing to the volcanos’ slopes.
Why go on a cycling holiday in the Canary Islands? The Canaries are not just a place to escape from winter to pedal in spring temperatures. You will find splendid landscapes, hospitality dedicated to cyclists and fun, as well as good food and beautiful beaches. Especially the southern part of the island is undoubtedly the place where you can enjoy the same temperatures all year round. Playa del Inglés is full of shops, services of all kinds, many clubs and restaurants for a pleasant evening with friends. It is located just 20 minutes from the airport by car and it is very well connected with the capital Las Palmas.
Itinerary

Meeting with Ital Cycling staff and travel companions to become familiar with the spirit of this sporting holiday, in a splendid island, for a full immersion of cycling, amazing landscapes, entertainment and Spanish cuisine.

A medium difficulty tour to familiarize yourself with the island. The path runs first along the coast and then continues to the climb from Santa Agueda. The most challenging climb begins in La Filippina and it winds up to Soria surrounded by green landscapes and with many panoramic switchbacks, up to the Soria dam. Stop at a bar in Soria.

We enter the heart of the Pilancones Natural Park. After a first medium climb to Fataga we reach San Bartolome for a well-deserved stop at 1.000 meters asl. We continue downhill to Santa Lucia and finally to Vecendario, and an easy road with an ocean view leads us back to the hotel.

Fantastic ride overlooking the coast for energy recovery. After visiting the Maspalomas lighthouse, the path continues along the coast, through tourist villages in a continuous ups and downs to Taurito.

It is the Cima Coppi of our tour, an intense day, with lunch in Santa Lucia. Let's go back to San Bartolome but continue to Ayacata where heading for the last climb up to Pico de las Nieves at about 2,000 meters. The descend, with the beautiful switchbacks through Los Marteles Nature Reserve ends in Aguimes. From here it is an easy return to Maspalomas.

Recovery stage but suggestive thanks to a gentle climb that from the beginning leads up to Ayagaures at 500 meters above sea level. We stop here to enjoy the Dam and Lake view and then we return descening to Playa des Ingles.

Moved stage with various ups and downs. Climb up to the Barranco di Los Palmitos where you can see palm trees and banana trees in the park. Next climb, a gentle one, leads up to Ayagaures a 500 meters above sea level. The road continues to some beautiful hairpin bends and go down to the valley in the famous Los Palmitos canyon. Now you deserve an aperitif in Maspalomas!

One last short ride for an ice cream before leaving for Las Palmas airport.
